Simulations

5 days remaining (adjusted to final test date - saved 9 days over October 2009 estimate)
Mood - Unfocused
Study Time – 3.0 hours (393.5 total - FAR: 113.5 - BEC: 74.5 - REG: 118.0 - AUD: 89.5)
Scores:  AUD-94, REG-97, BEC-93

It took me 5 hours of work to get in 3 hours of real study time.  I just had a bad case of the "I don't wanna".  I did get through the simulations though.  I did decent on them, better than I though actually.  Overall I think I'm in good shape.  I'm looking forward to relaxing for the rest of the day.  Tomorrow I'll try the practice final exam #1.

  1. I have not taken a CPA test with simulations yet.. so this part scares me. What do you think are one of the best ways to prepare for simulations? Or is it just all the other studying prepares you for simulations?

  2. Its pretty much knowing the subject matter. The sims are not scary or hard (and no I haven't passed FAR), but it's more hype than it's worth. Really fill in the blank kind of stuff.

  3. Not only is it more hype than its worth, it is hype that is worth less than a third of what the MC questions are worth. If you know the material well enough to pass the MC portion of the exam you should know enough to do adequate on the simulations. Mostly your other studying should prepare you. They are a lot like over-grown MC questions in many places. Practice on them using whatever software your review materials have (Becker's is just like the actual exam's simulations).
